Think about wording your goals so that they express a move toward action, not a move away from action. For example, instead of saying "I don't want to smoke cigarettes," say "I want to be a non-smoker." Saying what it is that you do want instead of what you don't want is much more powerful and helps your unconscious mind begin to move towards your goal. By the way, your unconscious mind does not process negative suggestions. Saying "I don't want to be sad anymore" is the same as saying "I want to be sad," which is why it's even more important to be clear about what it is you do want to move towards.
I really like to be aware of this framework when writing my goals. It has been really helpful to shift my perspective, help clarify what exactly it is that I want, and be as clear as possible when I am communicating with myself and others.
Move towards your goals and notice how much faster you can achieve them!
